The Strategy
Champions
First off, with the introduction of champions, farming has become much, much easier. The three champions all have their individual strengths and weaknesses, which I will touch upon. This is not a debate over which champion is better than the other, rather, it is which champion is better for farming the Kozu.
The Drull
Pros: Fast attacker, moves quickly, high damage. Takes down towers, silos and harvesters quickly. Excellent as both an attacker in the tower wave and in the looting wave.
Cons: Low hp
The Gorgo
Pros: High hp, moderate attack. Tanks towers well, allowing your other monsters to do more damage. Excellent in the attacking wave, moderate in the looting wave.
Cons: Slow
The Formor
Pros: Flying, putty rage. Buffs up your monsters, letting them tank the towers better. Also capable of attacking tower clusters without getting hit. Excellent in the attacking wave, good in the looting wave.
Cons: Lower damage
As you can see, all the champions are good for farming the Kozu, be it through not getting hit while buffing your monsters, being tickled by towers, or simply ripping them apart. In my opinion, the best champion for farming is the Drull (which I have). In my guide, I make use of the Drull to take down towers and other buildings quickly.
If you have other champions, then use them however you think best.
Monsters (assumes all monsters are level 5)
There are several different effective ways to farm the Kozu tribe. All have their pros and cons, but all the different ways involve these three factors: Goo, time, and profit. Generally speaking, the more goo you use, the less time you take to farm the tribe (not including monster production).
The longer you take to farm the tribe, (eg. 2 waves), the less goo you use, and the more profit you gain. Some strategies however, are both high in goo cost and take really long to farm. These strategies are not recommended. However, a plus for them is they require very, very little effort by the user.
Several notable strategies are as follows:
- Zaf(s) + Tower Monsters + Looting Monsters
- 10m Puttied Monsters (I’ve done this a few times to clear putty)
… and so on and so forth. Listing all the combinations will require even more time than what I’ve spent working on this guide, so I think I’ll skip that part and let you figure out what you think is best.
What I will be using in my guide, however, is the indisputably most profitable and goo efficient method of farming the Kozu (at the cost of time):
Octos + Pokeys (ft. Drull)
(Note: While not the fastest way to flatten the Kozu, it is undoubtedly the cheapest with each pokey costing 1k and octo 2k. Compare that with 1 dave at 600k and, well, do the math. Also, the monsters are produced rather quickly, which is important to me since I have 15++ kozus around me to farm, and I really don't want to wait to produce my monsters.)
The Base
After you have decided what kind of monsters you want to use, the things to note are: the optimal spot to fling your monsters, and the locations of the booby traps and the tower ranges. Thanks to a combination of procrastination of school work, and the subsequent result of plenty of free time, I whipped up a yard planner in Photoshop.
In case any of you were wondering, the booby traps are the red dots. Hopefully you knew that much at least. In any case, you’ll want to either trip them on purpose or avoid them completely.
(EDIT: Yes, I know I missed some booby traps. Do me a favour and take a screenshot of the booby trap so I can add it in. And these are the booby traps you'll hit most of the time, so I didn't bother with some. eg. bottom of the silo next to the cannon.)
Tower ranges for the whole base are below. Very messy bunch of red circles there. I will be focusing on different parts of the base and attacking them accordingly, so don’t worry if you can’t make anything out but red circles.
Tower levels will be addressed further down. In any case, you don’t need to worry since my guide already calculates the minimum amount of monsters needed.
